Conversation Partners Program

The Conversation Partners program pairs Ole Miss American and current International students with new International students to help them make connections and adjust to life in America.
Formerly known as English Language Partners, this program was started in the Fall Semester of 2015 to help bridge the gap in connecting students for a cross-cultural experience. Students are paired with the purpose of improving English skills and cultural awareness.
Conversation Partners are expected to meet at least once a week for the duration of the semester, although these meetings can be done at a time/location convenient for both partners. These meetings can range from having coffee together to attending a sporting event to going on a short trip to Memphis. The main goal of the program is to give international students the opportunities to meet new people and have conversations, whatever that may mean to each pair.

Mentoring Students will be provided with a short training and resources to help them accomplish the goals of their international student partner. In other words, you will be given the tools you need to have a great experience with this flexible yet highly impactful opportunity.
If you are interested in this program, feel free to go ahead and submit an application (the links to each can be found to the right). If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about the program, please feel free to contact us.
